Rallying call to Shropshire artists
AN open invitation has gone out to county artists to attend a networking event at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre which will be the first of its kind.
South Shropshire District Council and Bridgnorth District Council want artists, arts organisations and voluntary arts groups to come along and share information and ideas on Wednesday, July 30, from 6pm to 8pm, at the centre in Craven Arms.
South Shropshire arts development officer Jenny Henrywood said: "Artists have called for the more opportunities to meet and network with each other. As they are spread out in a rutal area, it is really important for them to have the chance to share their ideas and creative energy."
Sarah Bond, regional partnerships officer for the Arts Council, will be advising on making applications for funds under the new Grants for the Arts criteria.
Angela Martin, from Shropshire Adult Education, will also be giving details of current projects.
